Propane/LP Gas Fireplaces with Fire Pit Glass Instruction:
- Before getting started make sure that the gas to your fireplace is turned off.
- Clean fireplace with a wire brush if necessary to free inside walls of soot and dirt build up (painting optional).
- Install custom propane/LP burner and pan inside fireplace. Check with local building codes to see if the use of a Venturi/Air Mixer is required for installation in your propane/lp fireplace. Diamond Fire Pit Glass company always suggests using an LP converter and a pan with use of propane as this makes the gas burner cleaner and lighter which will reduce the effect of LP Gas collecting beneath the surface as LP Gas is heavier than natural gas which naturally rises to the surface.
- Make sure burner/pan is centered in fireplace and test new burner before adding fire pit glass.
- Pour fire pit glass crystals in fireplace covering fireplace floor and pan.
- Use hands to shape the fire pit glass. Move and mound the fire pit glass as desired. We suggest mounding your glass over the burner/pan. You can personalize your fireplace by adding fire pit glass colors of your choice. With LP Gas we suggest less of a fire pit glass mound covering the burner than with natural gas to reduce possibility of LP Gas build up beneath the surface. Propane Gas burners should not exceed 2 inch of glass coverage over the actual burner or fire ring.
